Working at MarQi Cloud
MarQi Cloud was started by infrastructure engineers, and it is still run by the people who operate it. There is no separate tier between the person who designs a system and the person who gets paged for it, which shapes both how work is done and who tends to enjoy working here.
The kind of work involved
The platform is built on open source: KVM virtualisation on the compute platform, Ceph-based block and object storage in the storage architecture, and a network fabric we run ourselves rather than rent as a managed service. Work spans hypervisor and storage operations, network engineering and peering, GPU cluster build-outs for AI and ML customers, and hands-on data centre work in Zone1.
Where the work happens
Zone1 is at 190 Bluegrass Valley Pkwy in Alpharetta, Georgia, in the north Atlanta metro. Roles that involve hardware are on-site; platform and support roles are based around the same team and time zone so that on-call actually works.
