Privacy Policy
What we collect, why, and what you control

This policy explains what personal data MarQi Cloud collects when you visit this website, open an account, or use our cloud infrastructure — and what rights you have over it. We have tried to write it in plain language rather than defensive boilerplate.

Who we are

MarQi Cloud operates open source hybrid cloud infrastructure from Alpharetta, Georgia. For the purposes of data protection law, MarQi Cloud is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. Where we process data on behalf of a customer as part of delivering the service, we act as a processor and the terms of our Data Processing Addendum apply instead.

What we collect

Account and contact data. Name, business email address, telephone number, company name, and the billing details needed to invoice you.

Support data. The contents of tickets, emails and calls you send us, including any technical detail you choose to share while we are helping you.

Service and log data. Records generated by operating the platform: authentication events, API and portal access logs, resource usage, and network telemetry. We need these to run the service, investigate incidents and detect abuse.

Website data. Standard web analytics about how this site is used. See our Cookie Policy for detail and for how to opt out.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use customer content to train machine learning models.

Why we process it

To provide and operate the service you have asked for; to bill you; to provide technical support; to keep the platform secure and investigate abuse; to communicate about incidents, maintenance and material changes to the service; and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interest in operating and securing the platform, compliance with legal obligations, or your consent — whichever applies to the processing in question.

Customer content

The data you store on your virtual machines and volumes is yours. We do not inspect it in the ordinary course of business. Our engineers access customer systems when you ask us to — for support or under a managed services engagement — or where access is strictly necessary to respond to a security incident or to comply with a legal obligation.

Sharing

We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate the business (for example payment processing and email delivery), where you have asked us to, or where we are legally required to. Any provider acting on our behalf is bound to process the data only on our instructions and to protect it appropriately.

Retention

We keep personal data for as long as you have an account with us, and afterwards only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected for — principally to meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, and to defend legal claims. Operational logs are kept for the period we need them for security and troubleshooting and are then deleted or aggregated.

Security

Access to production systems is restricted to the engineers who need it and is authenticated and logged. Data in transit between our zones is encrypted, and customer volumes are replicated across separate nodes. Details of the underlying design are published under storage architecture and network fabric. No system is perfectly secure, but we would rather tell you how ours works than claim it cannot fail.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Residents of California may additionally request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and may opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any right, email us at the address below. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.

International transfers

Our infrastructure operates from the United States. If you contact us from outside the United States, the personal data you provide will be processed in the United States under appropriate safeguards.

Changes

If we make a material change to this policy we will update this page and, where the change affects you meaningfully, tell you directly.
